This thesis focuses on the psychological coping mechanisms in the grieving process following prenatal child loss, as experienced by five women after miscarriage. The aim of the study is to identify emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to loss, as well as to examine the role of social support and adaptive strategies in the grieving process. The research employed Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), using semi-structured interviews and qualitative data analysis of participants’ narratives. Findings indicate that prenatal loss evokes intense emotions such as sadness, guilt, anger, and emptiness, and significantly affects identity and social relationships. Partner, family, and healthcare support were identified as crucial in alleviating grief, whereas the lack of such support was associated with a higher risk of prolonged grief disorder. Meaning-making and acceptance emerged as key factors facilitating adaptation. The results of this study may serve as a foundation for designing targeted psychological support programs for women after miscarriage.en
